Privacy

This notice explains what Tennis Owl collects when you use the marketing site and the match desk, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It is a working draft, not counsel-reviewed.

Who is responsible

Tennis Owl operates tennisowl.io and the match desk. For privacy questions write to support@tennisowl.io. We have not appointed a separate data-protection officer.

What we collect

Account: email address, user id, and the auth provider you chose (email, Google, or Apple). We do not ask for your real name unless your provider sends a display name.

Billing: Stripe customer id, whether Premium is active, and the source of that entitlement (checkout, webhook, or a manual grant). Stripe holds card and invoice details on its side. We do not store full card numbers.

Use of the desk: the match you opened as a guest (see cookies), and server logs needed to run and debug the app (IP address, user agent, timestamps, error traces). We do not currently run a separate marketing analytics product or ad pixels.

What we do not collect as your personal data: ATP results, odds, weather, player careers, and model inputs. Those describe professional matches, not you.

Why we use it

To create and secure your session, show the right guest preview or daily free match, take payment and keep Premium in sync, send transactional mail that the auth provider already sends (magic links, for example), and keep the service working.

Legal bases we rely on where GDPR applies: contract (running your account and a paid plan), legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, debugging), and consent where a provider login or a strictly optional cookie needs it. You can withdraw provider access in that provider’s settings.

Cookies

Auth cookies from Supabase keep you signed in. They are first-party and required for an account.

Guest preview uses a first-party cookie named tennis-owl-preview-match. It remembers which match we already showed you in the clear. It lasts about 24 hours, is SameSite=Lax, and is not used for advertising.

We do not set third-party advertising cookies. Stripe may set cookies on Stripe-hosted checkout or portal pages under Stripe’s own policy.

Who we share with

Supabase — authentication and the tables that store entitlements and related account rows.

Stripe — checkout, subscriptions, invoices, and the customer portal.

Hosting and the worker that builds match desks (currently Railway). The worker calls licensed or public sports, odds, and weather sources, and may call OpenAI or Google Gemini to write injury notes and OwlRead briefings. Those calls send match and player context, not your email, unless a briefing somehow included it (we do not design them that way).

We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context advertising.

How long we keep it

Account and entitlement rows last for as long as the account exists, and for a short period afterwards if we need them for billing disputes or abuse. Stripe keeps its own records under Stripe’s retention rules.

The guest preview cookie expires after a day. Server logs are kept only as long as we need them to operate the service.

Ask us to delete your account at support@tennisowl.io. We will delete or anonymise account rows we control, except what we must keep for tax, fraud, or a live dispute.

Your rights

If you are in the UK or EEA you can ask for access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of the personal data we hold, and you can object to legitimate-interest processing. You can complain to your local supervisory authority. Start with us at support@tennisowl.io — we will need enough detail to find your account.

Children

Tennis Owl is for people 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you think we have, email us and we will delete it.

International transfers

Our hosts and processors may store data in the EU, the UK, or the United States. Where a transfer needs a safeguard, we rely on the processor’s published mechanism (for example Standard Contractual Clauses used by Stripe or Supabase).

Changes

We will update this notice when the product changes what we collect. The date at the top is the latest draft. Material changes will be posted here and, if we have your email, we may also write to you.

Tennis Owl does not take wagers, hold funds, or receive commission from any operator. Nothing on the site is a recommendation to bet.
